What is an accident insurance?
Accident insurance pays out a sum of money if you become permanently disabled or die as a result of an accident. It will then pay out a lump-sum of money. This sum is useful so you’re able to cover the new costs that come with permanent disability, such as adjustments to your home or the costs of a hospital stay. If you do become permanently disabled, you’ll receive the sum of money after your degree of disability no longer changes. If you pass away due to an accident, your family and/or dependants will receive the sum immediately.
Important! Travelling to and from tasks
With this accident insurance, you’re also covered while traveling between your home and your task. Do keep in mind that it’s important that you can prove that you were traveling to or from your task! Prove could be a confirmation that you’d just selected a task, or that you’d just finished one.
Some example scenarios that are covered
- You’re in a shop doing your task, where you don’t notice a wet floor. You slip and break your leg. It’s a nasty break. You have a permanent loss of function of your leg, and become permanently disabled. (Covered: permanent disability)
- You’ve had an accident and need medical treatment. During that treatment, something has gone wrong, which causes you to pass away. Your dependents receive a sum of money. (Covered: incorrect medical treatment after an accident)
- You’ve had an accident. To be able to treat you, the medical staff cuts up your clothes. Luckily, these costs are reimbursed. After the treatment, you need to stay at the hospital for another 4 weeks. You receive € 75 per admission day to cover the extra costs for you and your family. (Covered: personal belongings and hospital stays)
